Mutton is the meat of sheep that are over 1 year old. Mutton can be slightly stronger in flavor and slightly less tender than lamb (meat from sheep less than 1 year old). Our mutton is delicious, and is still a considerably mild flavor compared to mutton from other breeds of sheep!
Our sheep live on grass their entire lives and are never given grain! Just pure, native grasses grown right here on our farm. We never plant seed or spray and chemicals or fertilizers. We move our sheep regularly to ensure they have plenty of food to eat, and to get them on fresh ground.
